Of all the local beauty queens, she is the only Miss Universe Malaysia that I remembered.  Andrea Fonseka

Sadly, it is not a positive registration, but rather an embarrassing one. I remembered her because of her figure, and the mocking about her representing Malaysia in the Miss Universe 2004.

I met her yesterday - 6 years after the pageant.

She came to our office for a sale pitch, she is the National Director for Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation. I seriously could not recognise her at first, but when she handed over the name card, her name sprung to my mind as someone I "know"! She looked like the Miss Universe that I remembered, but I was too embarrassed to confirm that with her as I don't have a good reference in my memory.

It is a big WWWOW... She is nothing close to the photo on the left. I saw her Marie France ad on the print before, apparently she had successfully shredded off the flab. But I have to say Marie France ad did not do her justice. She is much more gorgeous & stunning in person (with minimal makeup).

She speaks well. She presented very well too.

And she looks like this...

I think she has come a long way. Here's where she speaks for herself: http://andreafonseka.blogspot.com

When I say... "Mother-in-law", what comes to your mind?

I live in with my parents-in-law since the day I got married. I'm not so sure if she is too good a mother-in-law or I am too good a daughter-in-law... but this is what she always does:

She reserves the fruits & food for me (and another daughter-in-law of her) as she knows we don't take foods that are prayed to their God. She is very kind to not only respect our religion but help us to live it.

Whenever she cooks dish that I don't like to eat, she will cook another single-served dish to "compensate"! -  I have to say my very own mother would say: take it or leave it!

There was once she cooked fried rice for 2 consecutive lunches & she apologized for not able to make me a better meal! - I should be guilty for not cooking that lunch myself on that non-working days instead.

She never complained about me working late... when I reach home, she'd quickly reheat the soup & bring it to the table for me.

She never mind me waking up late but buy me breakfast on the weekends. She'd always make sure it is my cup of tea or else she'd buy other things.

Ours is a family of 8. When she cooks chicken, she keeps one drumstick for me (as when I work late). I have to make her believing that I don't like drumstick!

She always jokes about the days after she died, she said she is ready to starve with the ancestors because both her daughters-in-law do not pray ancestors. She has no hope on both of his sons (to pray) too.  I laughed.

It is a blessing to be her daughter-in-law.

And blessing is still counting...
